Pyralith - Earth/Fire Dominator

Okay, so here's what I've managed so far. I'm quite impressed with the Ranged Defence, Accuracy and Recharge but I think I may have slotted some powers badly due to chasing set bonuses. So any advice on this will be appreciated as I'm not that familiar with either set.

Personally, I'd be doing a lot more with Earthquake in terms of boosting the ToHit Debuff, because in combination with your high def vs ranged, it'd be a real lifesaver.

If you could free up just three slots for Earthquake you could slot something like so:

This gives a 4% damage boost for those three slots, but if you preferred you could slot for extra HP instead by using Dark Watcher and Lady Gray sets. The main thing is that this has over 80% recharge enhancing, some useful end reduction, and gives a total of just over -12% ToHit to all affected mobs.

This one needs no extra slots at all. Its simply putting in a set where you currently have plain IOs.

Using the set, it gives about 70% enhancement to Acc, End, and Recharge (better than plain IOs) and then gives you that boost to Speed and HitPoints for free, in addition to providing the extra recovery rate a lot earlier than some of your later sets do.


One place you can certainly free up some of the extra slots is in your Patron shield power. Six slots in a power that late in the game that only counts against three damage types is overdoing it I'd say. Alright, the extra 3% defence is probably worth a slot extra, but that's a max of 5 slots, and of the five, I'd make 2 of them from the Steadfast Protection set (the global +def and the resistance/end ones) with the other three being from Titanium Coating. Yes, you lose the +5% recharge boost but only at those upper levels where you have so many more powers to play with anyway. Having extra slots earlier will give bonuses that kick in earlier and work when Malefactored.

Another slot can be saved by only 2-slotting Hasten. Considering it will never have less than SOs slotted because you don't even take the power until lev 35, the third slot there is of minimal value, and once you slot 2 IO 50s in there, no real value at all.

Finally, whenever 3-slotting Stamina (which you may not need given you have Consume and will hope to team with buffers), I never find it worthwhile to slot 3 straight IO End-Mods. Take a look at the actual numbers if you swap the second plain end-mod IO for a set one (e.g. Performance Shifter: EndMod) and then the third slot to a EndMod/Recharge (e.g. Performance Shifter: EndMod/Recharge) and the difference is about 0.6% recovery or less, which is certainly countered by either having the extra maneuvering bonus from Performance Shifter (useful with Fly) or the few extra HP from the Efficacy Adaptor set bonus.
