Discussion: Breaking Point

This story started out as my excuse for Jennifer's absence while I was away. I had plenty of time to think about how it was going to go, and it's grown to introduce some characters and themes for future use as well. Feedback is, as always, welcome.

The story also has two possible endings. Which one it gets will depend on whether there's any interest in having the story involve the Militia as a whole. The final outcome is broadly the same in either case.

I’m quite enjoying it so far, it has a nice gritty feel to it. For some reason, it reminds me of V for Vendetta but don’t ask me why because I can’t tell why.

If you want some interaction with the team, I could easily see one of the Skulls being prosecuted by Daniel perhaps, maybe even leaking some information when they’re put on the stand. But if Jen needed help from the team, all she’d have to do is call.

One option for the future we haven't explored is Juan and Jen working together as police officers. It might even be good to have him temporarily moved to plain clothes to work on a particular case.

I might well take you up on that, I think it could work. I'll let you know when I have more figured out.

That sounds cool. They'd seem like natural candidates to work together on a case dealing with mutant relations.

Just in case anyone's wondering, this story hasn't come to an end or been abandoned. I just fell behind on updates and right now doesn't seem to be a good time to try bringing the Militia into it, so unless I hear differently I'm going to let the timing slide and bring it back at a point when it's more convenient.

Would this story now be heading in the direction of RP?

I ask because I'm sure a number of the Militia would be concerned if they caught wind of Jen's abduction.

I'm not entirely sure how phone calls to the Hub work, but anyone who wants to answer is welcome to.

I've always worked on the assumption that as we have a dedicated receptionist, all calls would come through that switchboard unless a person had someone's direct dial number.

However, there's no reason that a person couldn't be passing through reception, or that the caller could request to be put through to a named individual. Just because Imogen's grabbed it, doesn't mean others can't participate.
